02:32 pm - 50 book contest... I read on a livejournal thing that someone was going to read 50 books this year. I think it's a great thing to do! Books are great, and not enough people read them (I feel). So, I thought about doing it myself. I've already read one! 49 left. But, here's the 'contest' like aspect: Can you do it? 50 books in one year? Basically a book a week all year (technically, a little more than that). Seems tough, don't it? So, here's the contest information/rules 1) Read 50 books (duh!) They can be ANY genre, except children's books, or comic books (no graphic novels either). It should be a book-book...like one that you might read in school (middle/high/college). Harry Potter is okay, The Little Engine that Could is not. 2) Read the ENTIRE book. No skipping parts! This mostly applies to collections of short stories, novelettes, poems, etc. Read all of the poems, the stories, the tales. Even skipping one is no good. 3) Tell me what you read. I want to know (it might be a good book for me to pick up too!) I'll add you to my page: books.html I have my one book up so far! 4) Books that you finish now (or have finished recently) will count AS LONG AS more than half of the book was read in 2007. PRIZES/judging Judging: I will randomly pick the name of one of the people to finish it. I highly doubt many people will do it, so try to enter (more chance of winning!) If I complete it, I WILL NOT be entered. Only other people. Prizes: The prize can be almost anything that the winner wants. From a subscription to dA, to a commission, to a print, to a CD - whatever. Obviously this prize must be within reason. I retain the right to turn down a request (be it for moral, finicial, or availablity reasons). Most requests will not be denied. A nude picture of my roommate will most definately be denied. A 12 month subsricption to dA will most likely not be denied. A commission will not be denied. So, basically, read 50 books, get an awesome prize of your choosing! If 50 seems like it's too much for people (especially when life itself is so hectic), I will take the top readers and pick from them. If no one enters, I'll buy myself a sundae...come April. 03:12 am - Geist Von Dur what? So, I did a free pin-up for this guy, and it's inside his comic book...and that comic book is this Pick it up if you are interested. Nothing really special going on in my life. Japan was a no go, and school stops soon which means it's time to do all my projects and papers. Life shall be hell for the next few weeks. 2 presentations on Wednesday...life truly does suck. Oh well. After that, I can relax a little bit...maybe...who knows. I want to start belly dacing again. Hopefully I'll get on that and actually start doing it instead of just saying I'll do it...like I normally do. Hugs to Aimee, 'cause I am thinking of you/her now, and I hope she is okay. 07:50 pm - It's a hour and fifty minutes but... It's really interesting I don't know how much longer it'll be up, but, their webpage is http://www.freedomtofascism.com/. Intelligent debate welcomed. Not-so-intelligent debate welcomed. Just watch it and see what you think. I personally would like to know. If you think it's interesting, then let your friends see it.
